    JASIC Joins Fight against Coronavirus

    On the frontline

    As the coronavirus threat continues, JASIC has decided to provide support to the containment effort in Wuhan, China, on January 27th, 2020. The company has sent two batches of medical gears and construction material to the Leishenshan Hospital construction site. This is a specialist emergency hospital in Wuhan to treat people diagnosed with the virus, designed to house 1,600 beds and scheduled to be operational on February 5th, 2020.

    The total contribution of JASIC’s material support amounts to 1 million RMB. And it is part of the containment effort support package delivered by JASIC, which also includes a cash donation of 4 million RMB to Wuhan via China Charity Federation (CCF). JASIC has also employed its global sales network to source additional medical gears to help the fight on the frontline in Wuhan.

    Mr. PAN’s message to customers & partners

    Meanwhile, JASIC’s president, Mr. PAN Lei, has published an open letter addressing all JASIC customers & partners worldwide. In it, Mr. PAN sends his best wishes for Lunar New Year and expresses his confidence for China’s containment effort. At the same time, he calls for caution about the outbreak and welcome all efforts outside China to join JASIC in the fight.

    Employee protection

    In order to protect its employees, JASIC has extended the return-to-work date (from the Lunar New Year Holidays) to February 9th, 2020. For employees who have returned to Hubei province* where the outbreak is most severe, their return date has been further extended in response to local government’s demand. Moreover, a contingency task force has been established for outbreak prevention within all JASIC campuses. The team is also in charge of employee status tracking and coordination with local health authorities.

    Currently, all JASIC staff is encouraged to work at home in face of the outbreak. JASIC is confident to maintain its commercial operation during the extended period.
